O. Henry Science teacher headed to Antarctica

Ms. BrownEighth grade Science teacher Michelle Brown is heading south for the winter. Way south. About 8,300 miles south to be more precise.  But don’t worry, she’s coming back, and sharing her experience along the way with every student who wants learn.

Ms. Brown is part of a program called PolarTREC (Teachers and Researchers Exploring and Collaborating), and is preparing to leave Nov. 8 for a six week stay in Antarctica, working with scientists at McMurdo Station and a remote site outside of the South Pole on their research projects and communicating back to O.…

O. Henry’s 3rd Annual College and Career Fair will be on Friday, November 18. We would love to have many O. Henry families and community members participate this year. It is a tradition for O. Henry students, faculty, and staff to dress up on Halloween. So, on Monday, Oct. 31, we look forward to seeing everyone’s costume! Note: no masks nor look-alike weapons.

Food and Coat Donation
Our annual Drive to address poverty, hunger and homelessness begins this week. Our 6th grade World Cultures classes and NJHS students will lead our effort to collect healthy, non-perishable food items and new or gently worn coats.…

7th, 8th Football teams advance in playoffs

The weather was clear and warm at Nelson Field on Wednesday night as the O. Henry 7th and 8th grade football teams earned victories over their opponents to advance in the district playoffs.

The 7th grade A team defeated the Paredes Pumas 14-0, while the 8th grade A team won 38-0 over the Burnet Sailors.

Make plans now to head over to Burger Center next week to cheer on the Mustangs! Next up for the 7th grade team is a game against the Paredes Pumas at Burger Baseball Field on Tuesday, Nov.…
