2011 Mustang Football Wrap-Up
The O. Henry Mustang football teams all chalked up successful seasons this year, and demonstrated great sportsmanship and skills under the leadership of their coaches. Here’s a summary of the season for each team. Thanks to all of the players and coaches, cheerleaders and band members along with their sponsors for many nights of exciting games!
- The 7th grade A team coached by Ryan Richter and David McKey won both of their playoff games to finish the season with a 4-2-1 overall record, 1-1-1 in district for third place in the AISD west zone and fifth place overall in the city.
- The 7th grade B team coached by Robert Katz and Patrick McNally finished the season with a win over Covington to bring their overall record 3-3 and 2-1 in district to finish in a first place tie in the AISD west zone.
- The 8th grade A team coached by Travis Brunner and Thanasi Icossipentarhos completed their season with playoff wins over Burnet and Gorzycki to compile a 5-2 overall record, 4-1 in district, for a second place finish in the AISD west zone and third place overall in the city.
- The 8th grade B team coached by Jack Drummond and Matt Martinez won their final game against Paredes to complete their season with a record of 5-1-1 for a second place finish in the AISD west zone.
