Revolution Foods A La Carte
On Monday, April 27, we will begin selling a la carte items in the cafeteria (see attachment). I do not have the prices at this time. We hope the students like them!

Transition Camp 2015

Ease into O. Henry by enrolling in the O. Henry Transition Camp, to be held August 12-14, 8:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M.

O. Henry teachers will provide helpful hints in the areas of organization, study skills and school expectations. Students will meet new friends through team building activities. A scavenger hunt will be offered to allow the students to learn their way around the campus. Come and learn the Mustang culture!

Location – O. Henry Middle School Cafeteria
Tuition – $40
Participants do not need to bring any supplies or materials

AISD bus transportation will be available at the following locations: Allison, Barton Hills, Govalle, Oak Hill, and Zilker Elementary.

Dear O. Henry Families and Friends,

As most of you know, Austin ISD has still not received any significant financial relief from the Texas legislature in recent years. Therefore, we are still operating from a $500/student deficit that we were first forced to contend with four years ago, which totals nearly $2 million.

What I love about this school is how our parents responded to this draconian loss of revenue in 2011. In short, they said, “If the state won’t pay for an exemplary education, we will!” Thus, the first O.…

STAAR
STAAR testing continues this week:

  • Monday, April 20 – Advanced 7th grade and all 8th grade Math
  • Tuesday, April 21 – 6th/7th Math; 8th Social Studies
  • Wednesday, April 22 – 6th/7th Reading; 8th Science
  • Thursday and Friday, April 23 & 24 – Makeups

As a campus, we have always attempted to create a sense of calm and confidence during these state-mandated assessments. Our outstanding teachers have provided the students with all the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the standards of the tests. Our students will do well.

Please remind your children to get a good night’s sleep the night before each test, to eat a healthy breakfast the day of the test, and to bring a good reading book with them to school.
