2012 Girls’ Basketball – if you have a daughter playing basketball, please mark your calendar for Thursday, October 25 at 5:30pm. We will have a meeting with the coaches in the cafeteria to talk about tryouts, team schedules, and student expectations, as well as volunteer opportunities for parents. Please join us!
We will start 7th tryouts on Oct 25 from 3:30-4:45 and continue at 7:15am-1st period on Oct 26. All girls trying out must have an AISD physical and they must pass the 1st six weeks.

The Cross Country team will be participating in their last meet of the season Georgetown River Run Invitational. Please have athletes at O.Henry by 7:45 am on the 13th.
The girls will run at 10:00 and the boys will run at 10:30. We should be back to O.Henry by 12:00.

O. Henry Mustang Tennis, in partnership with the Capital Area Tennis Association, is pleased to announce a new after-school program for 6th graders that may lead to competitive opportunities in 7th and 8th grade U.I.L. Tennis.
For four (4) weeks beginning October 23, we will offer the U.S. Tennis Association’s highly lauded QuickStart Tennis® program for 6th grade boys and girls. QuickStart Tennis® will meet for twelve (12) sessions at the O. Henry tennis courts from October 23 through November 15 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:15pm until 5:30pm. Because of the progressive, incremental nature of the QuickStart Tennis® program, students who enroll are expected to attend all twelve sessions.
Capital Area Tennis Association will provide all tennis equipment including racquets. Enrolled students must wear their own appropriate court shoes and make their own transportation arrangements. Cost is $25 per student for the entire four weeks. Enrollment is limited to twelve (12) students maximum. The tryouts for the 8th grade girls will be on the second day of school, Tuesday, August 28th, and continue through Wednesday, August 29th. Tryouts will start in 8th period and continue until 4:45 p.m. both days. All girls who wish to try out need to have a current physical on file and have proper equipment. (tennis shoes, shorts, T-shirt and knee pads) The girls must be present both days to make a team. Everyone who tries out will be placed on either the A, B, or Mustang (C) Team. 7th grade girls’ volleyball tryouts will take place Tuesday, August 28th and Wednesday, August 29th. Tryouts will begin at 7 am each day, and athletes must be present at both days of tryouts. Henry with the coaches to go over the upcoming season, including introduction of coaching staff, student expectations, and parent volunteer opportunities for your child’s sport.
