Coach McNally is excited to announce the 6th grade-only tennis program that starts TODAY. The program is based on USTA/CATA programs, and tailored to 6th graders’ age, size and ability level; modified as needed to ensure an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all participants, with the goal of preparing them for future participation on our 7th/8th grade UIL tennis team. After wrapping up an almost undefeated regular season (one loss), our Mustang Tennis Team battled district rivals last week in the UIL City Tournament. The results:
GIRLS SINGLES – Rhyan Malachowski, played into the Quarterfinals, earning team points for O. Henry;
BOYS SINGLES – Colin McMillen won 3 of 4 matches, earning a 3rd place medal;
GIRL’S DOUBLES TEAM, Annie Kepple and Cyna Roberts, and BOY’S DOUBLES TEAM, Quinn Ralston and Hayden Schloz, reached their respective championship rounds, earning 2nd place medals.…Read more →
O. Henry is proud to learn that our Mustang Tennis Coach, Patrick McNally, has been awarded the Capital Area Tennis Association’s Middle School Coach of the Year Award.
McNally was nominated for the award by Tom Webber, the President of CATA, who is pictured above presenting the award to Coach McNally at their annual Junior Awards Banquet on April 27, which featured Andy Roddick as guest speaker.

Coach McNally is excited to announce the 6th grade-only tennis program, designed by the USTA, focused on FUNdamentals, and tailored to younger kids’ age, size and level of physical development. During this October-December after school program, we will use smaller courts/nets, shorter/lighter tennis rackets, low compression tennis balls, and modified rules/scoring to ensure an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all participants, with the opportunity to advance towards regulation tennis.
