There is a role for EVERY parent at O. Henry based on your availability and interests, and we encourage you to participate at the level that best suits you and your family.

Parent involvement is what makes a school GREAT!

Everyone benefits when schools and families work together to support learning, and we strive to create a welcoming and fun atmosphere for parents to be involved at our school.

There is a common perception of parents whose children are entering middle school for the first time that their child doesn’t want them active at their new school, or the staff doesn’t welcome parent participation like they experienced in elementary school.  There are many ways to stay involved at OHMS, and our school staff enthusiastically encourages you to be on our campus. We promise, you can make a difference and still respect your student’s growing independence.

“As the O.Henry Cheerleading program has grown to be a nationally competitive squad, the PTA has been instrumental in that growth! Last year, they bought us a complete floor of tumbling mats to help our cheerleaders stay safe while learning new and more difficult stunts and skills. This year, they bought us new pom poms to help us look sharp and professional at our national-level competitions!”
